Overview

The EWB‐USA West Coast Regional Steering Committee is thrilled to announce the annual EWB‐USA West Coast Regional Training Workshop Awards, which recognizes the chapters that best support the EWB‐USA mission of community‐driven development programs. For 2010, the EWB‐USA West Coast Region has allocated $15K for Workshop awards to support the chapters and their programs. Please note that Workshop award amounts for future years will be determined by the West Coast Region based on available funding at the time.
The winners in each of three categories will be invited to showcase their work at the Workshop. Winners will be selected by a panel of EWB‐USA West Coast Regional Steering Committee members during the month prior to the Workshop. Winners will be announced live at the Workshop event.

Inaugural Tyler Palmer Design Competition
The Inaugural Tyler Palmer Design Competition seeks to inspire innovative and sustainable engineering designs, and serves as a mechanism to share these ideas among EWB‐USA West Coast Regional chapters. It was created to honor the memory of Tyler Palmer, who was a founding member of both the EWB‐USA West Coast Regional Steering Committee and EWB‐USA San Francisco Professional Chapter. The award amount for this award is $3000 for 1 chapter only.
In future years, the theme or design challenge topic for the upcoming year will be announced at the EWB‐USA West Coast Regional Training Workshop and be posted on the EWB‐USA West Coast Region website.
Each EWB‐USA West Coast Region chapter may submit only one award entry.
EWB-USA West Coast Region Outstanding Chapter Award
The EWB‐USA West Coast Outstanding Chapter Award seeks to recognize the outstanding chapters of the EWB‐USA West Coast Region. The selected chapters are those whom have shown exceptional dedication and commitment to their programs, to their project communities, and to successfully implementing the EWB‐USA mission. On a regional level, these chapters also have contributed throughout the year to the overall benefit of the region by participating in the state calls and attendance of the Workshop. Up to 5 chapters may receive this award for $2000 per chapter.
Each EWB‐USA West Coast Region chapter may submit only one award entry.
EWB-USA West Coast Region Poster Competition
The EWB‐USA West Coast Poster Competition seeks to motivate chapter project teams to showcase their project designs and lessons learned. Up to 2 chapters may receive this award for $1000 per poster.
All entrants are highly encouraged to display their poster at the Workshop as a means to network and engage one another in discussions.
